Teddy Bears

How many of you know, why these stuffed soft toys with big ears and bulgy stomach are named as teddy bears?

Teddy bears are named after the US President Theodore Roosevelt (teddy).

The story began when the President refused to shoot Bear during his Hunting Trip.

This incident appeared in a Cartoon by Clifford K.Berryman published in the Washington Post.

Soon after Morris Michtome a New York Shop keeper started making stuffed Bears and Advertised them as Teddy's Bear with Roosevelt permission.

Thank You.
